The core mandate of Conservation Authorities is to undertake watershed-based programs to protect people and property from flooding and other natural hazards, and to conserve natural resources for economic, social and environmental benefits.
Since their creation, Conservation Authorities have worked to improve water quality, monitor and manage invasive species in our watersheds, reduce erosion and put in place policies and programs to reduce the impact of flooding on property and human life in this area.
