Trapping
Sea Lamprey have an acute sense of smell. Lamprey give off chemicals (pheromones) to either attract or repel other Sea Lamprey. Scientists use these pheromones to trap Sea Lamprey. These trapped animals can give biologists valuable information about Lamprey populations
