Many of the plants you see around you as you walk along the trail are not native to Canada. That is, they were brought to Canada either accidentally or deliberately because of some specific attributes. Many of these naturalized plants have escaped from gardens and landscaped areas. In most cases, native plants provide greater habitat for local wildlife because they have evolved over time together.
