Barriers
The fish by-pass channel was designed to enable Salmon and Trout to move upstream past the barrier of the Goodyear Dam but it may seem that the opening for the channel is too high for the fish. The height is a part of the designs to this new channel that act as a continued barrier to the passage of Sea Lamprey and restrict them from moving upstream to spawn. Fish can make the leap, Lamprey can’t.
