Phragmites
Common Reed (Phragmites) is a quick growing grass that effectively crowds out native vegetation in wetlands and shorelines. Phragmites provides poor habitat for local wildlife.
A similar-looking native species can make identification of Phragmites uncertain but it does not grow in dense stands on its own like Phragmites and it is usually mixed with many other species.
