Pools
Pools are deep, slow-moving areas of the stream usually created by water flowing over a barrier and carving away at the stream bottom. Because the water moves slowly, pools are great resting areas for fish. Can you see a pool from where you stand? If not, as you walk along the valley, keep checking the stream. There are many pools along its length.
